A practical course on economic dispatch modeling for electricity grids with thermal and hydroelectric generation. The course teaches how to build an Economic Dispatch Model for an electricity grid that includes thermal power stations and hydroelectric units. You will also learn the techno economics of different hydroelectric power units, such as dam, run-of-river and cascaded hydro units. The implementation will be done in Python and GAMS.
