About
Most participants watch the videos at 1.5x speed. Prerequisites: None Duration: 1 hour, 9 minutes Course Description The course teaches how to develop an optimization model that decides how many power stations need to be constructed, what type (coal units and/or natural gas units) and, after they have been built, how much electricity each of these must generate to satisfy the demand, but also in the most economical way. The goal is to satisfy the electricity demand in each hour of the day. The system also has energy storage, whose operation we will model. We assume that the electricity transmission lines have enough capacity so that no upgrades are necessary i.e. the focus is on power stations. The implementation is done in Python.
